Why Prosimians?

Halfbaffen.jpg

These sensitive and nocturnal creatures showcase how keeping animals in a calm and specialised environment.

Benefits in private keepers' hands:

- Correct circadian rhythm.

- Outdoor enclosure makes sunrise and -set, natural UV light, weater and sensory stimulation possible for the animals.

- Close contact to one keeper, no visitors. Animals are calm and relaxed.

- passionate urge for improving conditions leads to innovation

Goal: Using our ressources (time, space, money, knoledge..) for supporting conservation and breeding efforts.

In return, we are  able to work with these fascinating animals and learn more about them.

Multiple trips to the EPRC Vietnam brought my understanding for loris to the next level.

Experiencing seasonal climate changes, feeding & veterinary schedules and spending time in the primary forest of Cúc Phuong is having a huge impact on my animal care.

We are working hard on recreating a slice of nature.

Our animals

We, as a privately organized collective of keepers, are working on breeding pygmy loris (Xanthonycticebus sp.) independently of the EEP.

Under my personal care:

All our animals are registered with the responsible authorities and monitored by our veterinarian, who is also curator for slow loris at his zoo.
